ProFecund Ovulation Tests
In order to install a pregnancy, it is mandatory that the two germ-bearing cells of life, the female and the male, meet at the appropriate time. If men do not have to raise too many problems, because the fluid generated by them works all the time, for women every month has only a short period with real chances of getting pregnant.
Therefore, determining this short timeframe becomes very important.
The maximum fertility period is limited to the day of ovulation (the moment of release of the ovary from the ovary), plus the five days before it. In this interval, hormonal balance is characterized by a unique set of parameters.
The ProFecund Ovulation Test detects the growth of LH (luteinizing hormone) in the urine during the fertile period, signaling that ovulation will occur in the next 24-36 hours.
- Collect a urine sample, in a clean, dry container, made of plastic or glass. The samples collected can be used at any time of the day. However, the first urine of the morning generally contains the highest concentration of hormones.
- Remove the test strip from the protective package. The urine sample and the test strip will be brought to room temperature before testing. Do not open the package until you are ready to take the test.
- Insert the test strip into the urine sample with the arrowhead pointing toward the urine. Do not insert the tape over the line marked MAX. After a minimum of 15 seconds, remove the test strip from the urine and place it on a clean, non-absorbent surface. Alternatively, the test strip may be left in the urine sample as long as the strip is not submerged above the MAX line.
- Read the results after 5 minutes. Do not interpret the results later than 10 minutes.
Regardless of the presence of LH in the urine sample, a red line will always appear on the test strip in the control region. The presence of this red line serves:
- as verification that the test was introduced into the urine to a sufficient level;
- that the adequate flow was obtained through capillarity;
- as the control method for the quality of the reagents.
For a positive result, which confirms the presence of LH in the urine and, therefore, the fact that you are in the fertile period, a red colored line will form on the test region. The color intensity of the test line will be the same or stronger than that of the control line. If the color intensity of the test line is lower than that of the control line, the result will be interpreted as negative.
INVALID resultNo lines appear in the control region. If the control line does not appear in the viewing area, the result will be considered positive. If the control line does not appear, the test result is inconclusive and the test will be repeated. |
|
POSITIVE resultThe color intensity of the test line is the same or stronger than that of the control line. The result of the test means that, in the urine sample, the LH concentration is at the maximum level. You are in the fertile period! |
|
NEGATIVE resultThe color intensity of the test line is lower than that of the control line. The result of the test means that, in the urine sample, the LH concentration is at a normal level. Wait two more days and take another test. |
Sensitivity
The ProFecund Ovulation Test detects urinary concentrations of LH equal to or greater than 20 mIU/ml (according to WHO and IS standards).
Accuracy
The accuracy of results obtained by the ProFecund Ovulation Tests was verified by comparison with the qualitative visual test. The results indicate 100% compatibility.
Specificity
The specificity of the ProFecund Ovulation Test was determined by cross-reactivity studies with other hormones present in the urine (HCG, hFSH, hTSH). For all these hormones negative results have been obtained.
